My “Bag of Crap” from Woot.com

by Michael Arrogant on October 8, 2008 · 2 comments

I am a fan of Woot.com. This was probably evident in my assessment of HoopStick a couple days ago.

On a near monthly basis, Woot offers their “Random Crap” item.  When it goes up for sale (usually during a “Woot Off”), it always sells out in a matter of seconds, usually crashing their site in the process.  Regular shoppers see this item as the holy grail of all their offerings because for $8 you you have a chance of getting something really good on the cheap.  At the bare minimum it’s entertaining to see the junk they dig out of their warehouse to send you.

Here’s the crap that landed on my front porch today-

Buying this crap, I’m bound by THE HOLY CRAP COMMANDMENTS, #2 of which is “Thou shalt not whine and complain when some people’s crap turns out to be nicer than yours.”   I shall abide.

Thanks Woot!

All I can say is WOW!! Hang on to your Shopping for Dummies book as it will, without a doubt become a high priced collectible in 40 years or so. Don’t forget to seal it up good as I did with my first 12 issues of Omni magazine.
As for the batteries I have found that throwing them in a burning barrel is the absolute best way to get rid of used up batteries. For you deprived folk that don’t know a burnin barrel is where we get rid of burnable trash instead of sealing in in plastic to be buried in a plastic coated landfill. Haven’t done it for years but throwing batteries in a fire was a real kick as a kid as was shooting batteries out of a piece of gas pipe with a cherry bomb (while holding it).

Awesome… that doesn’t seem like crap to me! And for $8… you could certainly resell what you don’t want on ebay or something? (although maybe wait a month or so first, so other wooters don’t flood the market)
